Texas tint limits (passenger cars)
- Front side windows: at least 25% of light let through (VLT) and no more than 25% reflective.
- Windshield: only a strip at the top (above the AS-1 line, or the top 5 inches), at least 25% VLT, no more than 25% reflective, and not red, blue or amber. Clear UV-blocking film is allowed on the whole windshield.
- Rear side windows: exempt, any darkness.
- Back window: any darkness if the car has outside mirrors on both sides (every Tesla does); otherwise the same 25% limits apply.
